Do you ever put something off for a really long time because you’re dreading it? You think KNOW it’s going to be terrible and difficult and how on earth are you ever going to figure it out?
But at some point you have to deal with it. For whatever reason, you can’t keep going how you have been and you need to make a change.
Me too.
In this case (because there are so many cases), it was migrating from one email marketing platform to another.
I’d been using MailChimp for over two years, but I was more and more unsatisfied with all the changes they’d made. Plus I discovered MailerLite (which I love), so it only made sense to migrate my list.
But just the thought of it — ugh.
But okay, okay, today was the day. I spent awhile in MailChimp trying to figure out how to export the list. Then came over to MailerLite and discovered there’s an integration for that! It was literally three clicks to connect the accounts together and pull the list in.
That’s what I’d been dreading?
Yeah.
Maybe this is a lesson to not get so worked up about things ahead of time. What do you think?
Last month I gave my first presentation to our WordPress Pittsburgh group! I’ve organized a ton of meetups, but this was the first time I spoke. Read my notes on getting started with email marketing.
I also recorded a video on how to create an email sequence with MailerLite (and at the bottom of that post or the bottom of my website — you can sign up to receive said sequence).
Even though I’m not from the south, I feel compelled to end my email today with “Happy Fall Y’all!” (Forgive me.)
P.S. We’re gearing up for a mega meetup in October. If you’re in the Pittsburgh area, we’d love to see you there! I also wrote a post about why you should consider speaking at a meetup.
