I want to share some exciting progress I’ve made so far in 2018.
- I set up a new, official workspace
- I applied for my LLC and obtained an EIN
- I organized two WordPress meetups in Pittsburgh
If you know me at all, you know I LOVE setting goals. I recently joined a Business of WordPress Slack group, and many of the other members have been reading The 12 Week Year.
The book is about breaking down your goals into 12-week chunks (instead of setting goals annually). I read it and am working on the exercises now. I hope to have my first plan completed by next week.
We also have a weekly standup channel for accountability. For the past three weeks, we’ve been listing items we accomplished the previous week and what we’d like to tackle in the week ahead. Just making this short post has inspired me to address some things that I’ve been avoiding (mostly out of fear). Knowing I have to report back really helps me to step up my follow-through.
In Defense of the “Blog” and the Simple Way Your Small Biz Can Start Blogging. I have a lot of clients who don’t think a blog is right for them. Here I talk about the what, why and how for a small business to start blogging. (And for all you geeks out there like me, there’s a template inside!)
If you read all the way to the end, Happy Valentine’s Day! My sister mailed me a bag of my favorite conversation heart colors (pink, purple and best of all white — yes, the wintergreen ones) and it was the best present ever.
Thanks for reading!
