As promised, last month I carved out some time to think about what this monthly(ish) email actually is.
I went back through every newsletter I had ever written and categorized everything in a Google sheet to try to find… something. Patterns? Answers?
Here’s my summary:
- I have written 58 emails since June 2017
- Looking back, most of them aren’t as bad as I thought they would be 😆
- Seeing them all at once made me feel really proud of the writing I’ve done and my consistency
- I thought I didn’t know what I was doing, but it turns out, I’ve been writing about a few main topics: goal setting, accountability, time management, finding what works for you, consistency, things I’ve learned, creating (content) and getting better at business (and life)
Nothing is going to change on this end. I’m still going to write about the same topics, but this time I’m going to advertise it as such.
Before I sign off, I want to share a blog post that I wrote reviewing The Compound Effect. I love the powerful concepts in this book. (Spoiler: it’s about small tasks repeated consistently over time.) I even recorded the post so you can listen if you don’t feel like reading.
Read any good books lately? What are you doing to get better at business and life? Reply and let me know!
P.S. This week, I shared a video on LinkedIn about one-hour tasks. Check it out and if you have any thoughts, I’d love to hear them. Also stay tuned for the follow-up video later this week.
