The Region VI Workforce Development Board serves as the administrative support and backbone of the statewide workforce development system. Local boards develop strategic plans to match employers with qualified candidates and offer skill-based programs to job-seekers through American Job Centers. Region VI is one of seven regions located throughout the state of West Virginia and is comprised of thirteen counties in North Central West Virginia.
Region VI had an old website that was difficult to navigate and maintain. I was able to help Region VI by:
- Giving guidance on content reorganization and creation for better navigation
- Creating a new WordPress website with a fresh design
- Building an easy-to-use system for internal and external documents
- Showcasing their partners with a new design and additional information
- Integrating with Plausible analytics and Google Search Console to track visitors and search terms
- Training users on how to edit their new site
Region VI is also on a care plan with premium managed WordPress hosting, advanced caching + CDN, daily backups, weekly WordPress, theme and plugin updates, security and uptime monitoring, database optimization and time for tasks each month.

I was concerned that managing the new website would be as time intensive as our old website and that we would be right back where we started. Our old website was difficult to navigate and edit and it did not have the features that we wanted, such as: current news, etc. I also thought it would take much more time to put together a new website and it did not. The new website is so much more user friendly and easy to navigate and edit. Rene was able to give us everything we wanted and more.
Rene was so pleasant to work with. She took her time and provided us with all the training tools we would need to keep our website up-to-date. I specifically liked seeing our vision come to life throughout the process.
Rene is fantastic. She really listens to the customer’s wants and needs and makes them happen. She made the experience easy for us. She took care all the complicated stuff that we did not have time to deal with, let alone know how to handle. She made suggestions that we would not have thought of and stayed on task from the beginning of the project to the end. She also kept us on task.
