Email Templates to Easily Ask for Client Feedback + Testimonials
Client feedback is incredibly valuable – not just to help you grow, but also for showing potential clients what it’s like to work together.
Below are five email templates you can use to ask for feedback or a testimonial after a project. Each one takes a different approach, so you can pick the one that feels right for your style and your relationship with the client.
Not sure what questions to ask? Check out my post, The Best Questions to Ask Clients for Meaningful Feedback and Testimonials.
Example Email 1: Request for Feedback with Portfolio Feature (via Form)
Subject: I’d love to feature your project!
Body:
Hi [Client Name],
It’s been great working with you on your project! I’d love to write a portfolio piece for my website to highlight the work we did together. If you’re okay with that, I’ll put together a draft for you to review before it goes live.
Each portfolio feature includes a short overview of who you are, the project itself, how I helped, a testimonial, and a screenshot.
To get started, here are a few quick questions about your experience: [Insert Link]

Hi [Client Name],
It helps new clients feel more confident when they hear about the experiences of others. Would you mind answering three quick questions? It’ll only take about two minutes:
- What was your biggest concern before hiring me? Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead?
- What, specifically, was your favorite part of the project, and why?
- If you were to recommend me to a friend, what would you say?
Feel free to share anything else you’d like as well. I really appreciate your time!
Warmly,
[Your Name]
