Here we go again 🤘

BUT if you’re thinking – Yay! An email from Rene! I’ve been wondering what she’s been up to, then great!
The last we spoke here, I was going down a new path in my business – writing another newsletter, recording and producing a podcast, and trying to help service providers create digital products.
Unfortunately, that path was a dead end. (Although the trombone may be a new emoji in 2025, unfortunately the much-needed dumpster fire emoji is not.)

Since the podcast ended in June, I’ve kind of been waiting around for the universe to tell me what to do next. That also has not been working out super well.
A few good things have happened recently though:
- I signed a great website maintenance client. Their site was kind of in disarray, but I LOVE getting websites in order. Now that the site is in good shape, we’re focusing on adding new content regularly and building out new features.
- I joined a new community called The Playhouse that seems promising. In it, you can host events, and I’m working on an event for January to share how I audit my client sites each new year and how you can audit your site, too.
- And I’ve had a few good conversations about websites, how things work, what I recommend, and I think I was able to educate people new to the online space which felt good.
When I started freelancing in 2017, I guess I thought that once I got going, things would just be… good? Final? But obviously that’s not the case. Things are always changing. We have to keep figuring out what works, what doesn’t work, and what to do next.
