This week I had my first event in the Playhouse (and my first event in quite a while) β Website Quick Check β Simple Steps to Start the Year Right.
We walked through five things you can do on your website right now:
- Test your contact form to ensure visitors can reach you
- Test your email sign-up forms for smooth lead generation
- Update your website copyright to reflect the new year
- Remove outdated content that no longer fits your offerings
- Identify missing elements and create a plan to address them
So often I see people create a website and then never look at it again. π
Not only could they be missing out on business (how do people know you have a new service if it’s not on your website?!) but they could potentially be missing out on leads, too. I have seen a fair number of broken contact forms in my day, and actually, my own newsletter sign-up form was broken for a bit just a week ago. (Special thanks to two of my clients for alerting me and helping me test!)
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be auditing my clients’ sites. In addition to the above five tips, take a look at this blog post for ideas on how you can audit your WordPress site.
